They want to plant doubt in your mind
Just to bring you down
But I won’t give in to them
She was saying goodbye
She was saying goodbye
You can be sure that I am missing you
At this very moment
Wherever you are
In my mind, I hear music
As she holds me in her arms
It’s a sad song I don’t remember
I have done nothing wrong
But these are changing times and
People, they don’t know me
She was saying goodbye
She was saying goodbye
You can be sure that I am missing you
At this very moment
Wherever you are
Music, she was my first love
Music, she was my first love
Knocking on the door
And she opens herself to me
And for the first time
I can see all the colors that I know were meant for me
And I can hear all the colors that I know were meant for me
And they accept me
They accept me
They accept me
They accept me

I was losing my edge
Sorry now not to have her
Standing out on this ledge
Oh, what I wouldn’t do for her
Thirty feet from the top
I looked at her and she turned away
Is that all you’ve got
So close and yet so far away
We got so high
I couldn’t think now I needed air
If I made it back
I knew I wouldn’t care at all
So I pushed on into the death zone all alone
I was all alone in the death zone
The writing was on the wall it said
Now you’re gonna have to take that fall and
You know it isn’t all because your trials have just begun
Thirty feet from the top
I looked at her and she turned away
Thirty feet from the top
So you’ll live to fight another day
Oh, we’ve come so far together
Just reach down untie the teather
‘Cause I don’t care
I’ll rise like the Phoenix
From the ashes of my life
The ashes of my mind
Thirty feet from the top
I looked at her and she turned around
Thirty feet from the top
Watch me now ‘cause I’m going down

I was just passing through
When you caught my eye
I felt something like déjà vu
Heard my heart cry
You held my hand
For the first time
And I could hardly stand
Then our lips touched
For the first time
For the first time again
We move like twin souls from one flame
Passing through the night
You are an angel at my side
Help me see the light
You held my hand for the first time
And I could hardly stand
Then our lips touched
For the first time
For the first time again
I know we’ve been here many times before
Just me and you yeah
But still that nervous energy
It somehow feels new baby
I hold your hand
For the first time
And I can hardly stand
Then our lips touch
For the first time
For the first time again
We’re falling, falling, falling in love
For the first time again

Light is all around
Better keep your hands steady
Just pretend you’re on your way
If you’re not there already
Remember…
Leave that lonely girl alone
Leave that lonely girl alone
Her heart is better left unknown
So, leave that lonely girl alone
When she walks into the room
All the heads, they turn now
And all the lessons I have lived
Looks like they’ve been unlearned now
My words, they fade away
Just like the song she’s humming
I knew somehow that she would be here
Before I saw her coming
And they said…
Leave that lonely girl alone
Leave that lonely girl alone
Her heart is better left unknown
So, leave that lonely girl alone
I knew my fate was sealed
The first time that I met her
All she did was steal my heart
And all I did was let her
Something cold was in her eyes
Inside her heart was burning
Long ago I recognized
Her love would not be returning
And I’ve got to…
Leave that lonely girl alone
Leave that lonely girl alone
Her heart is better left unknown
So, leave that lonely girl alone

Don’t make me tell you things that I don’t want to remember
I told you not to call me now
She said, “Good morning, you’re up early.”
“That’s because I haven’t been to sleep yet. And where were you?
No, I don’t think so. You should get your story straight.”
I tried to make my voice bright, but there was way too much mad in it
She wasn’t listening anyway
Then she says I’m gonna make it up to you
I’ll make it up to you
I’ll make it up to you
But I don’t think so
No, no I don’t think so
Will we make it through the week
No, I don’t think so
Something’s gotta fall
Then she says I’m gonna make it up to you
I’ll make it up to you
I’ll make it up to you
But I don’t think so
Anything she says
No, I don’t think so

I wander through the museum
And time stands still
But only for a moment
Because move on it will
It is the year 2055
I hold my grand-daughter’s hand
It’s too late to change my future
And leave to her this shattered land
I could try to explain how it was to her
If I could only remember the day
Before it all changed
Or was it always that way
We were better off when we didn’t know
You can say we were naïve
But we dealt the cards ourselves
Didn’t see the ace up his sleeve
I wander through the museum
And time stands still
But only for a moment
Because move on it will
It is the year 2070
I hold her picture in my hand
Everyone I know is gone
But by some cruel miracle I’m alive
I could try to explain to you history
I could hand you a book from my shelf
But I would swear it never happened
And I was there myself
I know it feels like it’s too late
And we’re in the eleventh hour
Now is the time for integrity
And speaking truth to power
I wander through the museum
And time stands still
But only for a moment
Because move on it will
It is the year right now and I
Wake up to a new day
Memories of the future
Come back to me
Come back to me all hazy and grey
Last night in my dream
There was no time to wait
I had all the answers
But they still all came too late
We’re in the eleventh hour
Truth isn’t always in power
I wander through the museum
And time stands still
But only for a moment...

Your hair falls through my fingers
Through them just like rain
And for one crazy moment
I know I’m not insane
Slide into my arms and I can feel
Like I’m home again like I know it’s real
Slide into my arms and I can feel
Like I’m home again like I know it’s real
They’ve got nothing on you, Babe
And they’ve got nothing on you
Your fragrance comes to me
Riding on a breeze
It rushes to my head
Sends me to my knees
Slide into my arms and I can feel
Like I’m home again like I know it’s real
Slide into my arms and I can feel
Like I’m home again like I know it’s real
They’ve got nothing on you, Babe
And they’ve got nothing on you
The look that’s in your eyes
I’ve never seen before
We both know that something special
Is happening for sure
Slide into my arms and I can feel
Like I’m home again like I know it’s real
Slide into my arms and I can feel
Like I’m home again like I know it’s real
They’ve got nothing on you, Babe
And they’ve got nothing on you

Last night I was alone
Some heavy drinking and a dream
And then I saw her
In another bar on the other side of the street
But I couldn’t get there
She was so close I couldn’t touch her
So, I watched her through the window
Until she looked in my direction
She said to tell you
Though you feel alone sometimes
When the night gets colder and colder
She is with you, she is with you
That’s her hand on your shoulder
I know you feel alone sometimes
When the night gets colder and colder
She is with you, she is with you
Feel her hand on your shoulder
I’ve been away so long
I don’t know what your life is
You would remind me too much of her
And I’d never move on with my life
And I guess that was selfish
Now, it’s too late to change anything
And she said
Though you feel alone sometimes
When the night gets colder and colder
She is with you, she is with you
That’s her hand on your shoulder
I know you feel alone sometimes
When the night gets colder and colder
She is with you, she is with you
Feel her hand on your shoulder
It’s my loss again
But I had to pass to you this information
Although it came to me in a drunken dream
She wrote this song, took over my mind
Took over my mind to channel through me
So that she might reach you
Though you feel alone sometimes
When the night gets colder and colder
She is with you, she is with you
That’s her hand on your shoulder
I know you feel alone sometimes
When the night gets colder and colder
She is with you, she is with you
Feel her hand on your shoulder

I felt that I was being shaken
So, I opened my eyes
Now aware of my light
I see where my shadow dies
Why didn’t you give to me some more time
I know I wasted so much of it
You had all the time that you needed
You just wouldn’t believe it
In the world of words
He was a wealthy man
But his real life was over
Almost before it even began
Why didn’t you give to me some more time
I know I wasted so much of it
You had all the time that you needed
You just wouldn’t believe it
I felt that I was being shaken
So, I opened my eyes
Now aware of my light
I see where my shadow dies
Why didn’t you give to me some more time
I know I wasted so much of it
You had all the time that you needed
You just didn’t believe it
For the first and only time in his life
He walked through the shadow of the curse
And felt his blood run cold
Flowing free from bad to worse
He saw it on the air
So curious and strange
But when he looked again
He knew that nothing had changed
Why didn’t you give to me some more time
You know I wasted so much of it
I had all the time that I needed
But I just didn’t believe it

He went to church that day thinking he had done his part
Stopped at the pub on his way home when that demon took his heart
She didn’t know what it was when she saw him from afar
Didn’t recognize herself in the mirror that ran behind the bar
She got into his car
Got into his car
At first, it started out real tame
Just an hour or two was all
I guess they both needed something
To go with nothing at all
Later on it occurred to him, he was standing on a knife
On his way to a place in time that cut into his life
As he circled the drain
Struggled to be brave
Stronger than death
More powerful than the grave
Even as he walked his eyes were cast lower and lower
Afraid to lose himself if he couldn’t wake up from the shock
And softly his song rose to its knees
Beating with the rhythm of a resurrected heartbeat
On his shoulder she was not about as well deserved
As his trophy, she could only believe slowly
In all men
In an outside room friends they came and went
Leaving their thoughts and prayers
But their sins they won’t repent
It’s okay to stand idly by while the world moves slowly on
Going in the wrong direction
Too soon, we’re here and gone
This was his world watching from above
Stronger than death
More powerful than love

1) Note Found In A Book
She used to write me notes, then hide them in various places like time bombs or land mines that I would find maybe years later. The one main passion that we shared was music. We were together for about six years. She died of cancer eleven years ago. A few weeks ago, I pulled a book off the shelf, and one of her notes exploded into my hand. It said, “You can be sure that I am missing you at this very moment… wherever you are.”
2) Thirty Feet From The Top
Relationships can sometimes feel like you are climbing Mount Everest together. When you get close to reaching the top, you might have to decide to turn back because of weather or fatigue. This can be a life-or-death moment. When you attempt to climb Mount Everest in real life, it’s probably not a good idea to bring your ex-girlfriend with you.
3) For The First Time Again
When you find your soulmate, everything you experience is familiar. All the lives you may have lived, time spent together in some ethereal realm, every first time has a familiar feeling to it. It is as though you are living it again for the first time. So they say…
4) Leave That Lonely Girl Alone
There’s a reason that she’s lonely. You might find out too late that she is also truly dangerous.
5) Time Stands Still
We all know that we aren’t taking care of the earth. The environmental obstacles are so daunting that it’s easy to just stand by and watch it all crumble. And it’s not easy to even know what to do. As my mom used to say, and I think that our future descendants would also, “Do Something…even if it’s wrong!”
6) I Don't Think So
When it gets to this point, you know it’s time to go.
7) Slide Into My Arms
The sense of touch… your hair…your scent reaching me on a gentle breeze…the sense of sight as you look into my soul… And all the other girls I have ever known in my life… they’ve got nothing on you.
8) She Is With You
For everyone who has lost their mother, know that in your darkest hours, she is with you.
9) More Time
Now aware of my light, I see where my shadow dies. Just when you start to figure things out, your time is up too soon.
10) His Downfall
As he dies, his life flashes before his eyes. Was she his downfall? Or was it just that his life was too mundane to matter anymore? He watches while floating above. But this is no near- death experience.
